11/20/2016. The weather is overcast in Southern California. Today, I started www.inflationobserver.com  as I believe inflation will come back one day.

President-elect Trump is rumored to be interested in borrowing a lot of money for America. See this article from Barrons.com http://www.barrons.com/articles/taming-federal-debt-the-case-for-100-year-bonds-1479537600#   If you are blocked from seeing this article, you might want to look at the article at the library or by entering the title into Google: Taming Federal Debt: The Case for 100-Year Bonds

Secondly, once popular newsletter writer and best selling author, Howard J. Ruff died last week.     He was on the inflation bandwagon but had to shift his gears when inflation was tamed starting in the 1980's.    His obituary can be found here from the NY Timeshttp://www.nytimes.com/2016/11/17/business/howard-ruff-quirky-conservative-economist-and-author-dies-at-85.html?_r=0

Both Trump and Ruff wrote best-sellers and both claimed at one time to have the highest book sales for a business book (Trump) or a financial book (Ruff) sales.    Both Trump and Ruff fought Hillary Clinton in different ways, see this other obituary for Mr. Ruff:  http://www.sltrib.com/home/460539155/rolly-remembering-mormon-investment-guru-howard

So I started this website as Howard J. Ruff passing might be a good sign to start an inflation blog.  Yesterday, I saw a presentation by Christine Benz of Morningstar who showed that according to the Morningstar which claimed that Basic Material stocks were currently overpriced relative to other sectors.   So this may be the time to start a website, but not a time to start investing in inflation hedges.

You may want to watch inflation and have investments that benefit from inflation in your watch list.   Here's Mr. Ruff with the last word:
